The existence of GAMB was born out of a dream conceived by its founder, Monsignor Obiora Ike in 1998. The dream was to provide a home to house and carter for motherless and abandoned babies, with love and compassion. And from its inception to date, GAMB has pursued that dream, vigorously.
GAMB was started under the Catholic Institute for the Development of Justice and Peace, CIDJAP, when Most Rev Dr Anthony Okonkwo Gbuji was the Bishop of Catholic Diocese of Enugu and Very Rev Monsignor Obiora Ike was the Vicar General and Director of CIDJAP. On February 22, 1999, the Home was opened with three pioneer babies namely: Chinazaekpere, Kelechukwu and Kosirisochukwu
